INDEPENDENT COMMUNITY CAMPAIGNER NOMINATES FOR DIVISION 3

The need for greater community engagement has motivated Keith Douglas to seek the support of Division 3 voters to be their Councilor.

Keith Douglas has concurrently chaired three different community organisations, all of which have experienced a great deal of frustration in their dealings with Council in this term. As a result, he has been strongly encouraged by many people across Division 3 to nominate and tackle the issues that the incumbent Councilor has failed to resolve.

With an award winning corporate career involving key executive management experience in finance and international banking corporations, Keith has the skills to enable him to make a significant contribution to the next Gold Coast City Council.

Keith Douglas said “the community deserves a pro-active Councilor and that is what they will get if I am elected. I have a track record for getting results – some say I am like “a dog with a bone”. That is because I am passionate and you have to be passionate to put in thousands of hours of personal time to get better outcomes for your community.

“There is a great deal of anxiety about how an increasing population will affect our lifestyle and these fears are well founded. New approaches, better ideas and much better strategic plannning will be needed to meet the challenges that we face now and in the future.”
